Leverkusen, Germany -- Bayer MaterialScience AG is putting up prices for the polyurethane materials MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate), TDI (toluene diisocyanate) and polyether polyols worldwide by Euro 0.25/kg, with effect from 1 June 2010.
BMS's 14 May statement said: "Raw material and energy costs for these product groups have increased considerably. To ensure continued reliability of supply and an efficient service for its customers, and to further develop the product range to meet future requirements, Bayer MaterialScience is compelled to pass on a proportion of these increased costs in the form of price rises."
The supplier noted that it will honour current contractual agreements.
