Osnabrueck, Germany -- Tubing producer polyvanced from Osnabrueck has set up a Design & Media Award 2010 for uses of tubing in interior design. A jury will assess the originality, aesthetics and feasibility of the designs. "50 students of the University of Applied Sciences in Hannover have already promised to take part," said polyvanced ceo Dr Robert Mayr, in a company statement.
Polyvanced will manufacture the winning design.
The company points out that tubing is highly versatile with uses as a structural element in the interior of buildings or as an ornamental accessory in room decorating. Polyvanced claims the leading brand in tubing technology, with a range using polyurethane to advantage. "Our polyvanced Design & Media Award is intended to additionally promote information and communication around the topic of tubing technology," Mayr says.
Polyvanced points out that ecological aspects, the considerate use of resources, and environmental compatibility are the highest priority in process and product development. "Of course, these aspects will also be considered in the assessment of the submitted designs", Mayr added
