Victoria, Australia -- A lightweight, waterproof building panel made from a high density polyurethane composite material has been shortlisted in the DesignBUILD Incubator award scheme.
The MultiPanel’s thermoformable properties allow them to be heated and curved any time after production, which allows them to create complex and non-linear building designs.
They are also fire retardant and stronger than traditional foam alternatives with excellent thermal and acoustic properties, the company, MultiPanel, said.
The panels were formulated by MultiPanel – based in Victoria, Australia and the firm owns all intellectual property rights to the composite panel which, the company, is also.

A single panel weighs between 8.5 and 18kg. It can hold 210kg/m3 and is easy to glue and screw, Multipanel added. In addition, MultiPanel has been rated by EcoSpecifier as an eco-friendly product.
MultiPanels are 240cm by 120cm in thicknesses from 8 to 30mm.
Representatives of the Australian Institute of Architects, Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and the Australian Construction Industry Forum shortlisted the firm for the accolade.
MultiPanel has been granted a free stand at DesignBUILD expo which is due to be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from May 4-6, 2016, when the award winner will be announced.
