Kerala, India -- Press reports that Bharat Petroleum Corp is in talks with two Asia-based potential partners for a propylene-based facility in Kerala have emerged.
Earlier this year, as reported at UTECH-polyurethane.com, the company denied Indian press reports that it was planning a joint venture with Manali Petrochemicals for a polyurethane project in the state.
While the names of the companies purported to be in talks with Bharat Petroleum Corp were not revealed in the latest article – by India-based publisher the Hindustan Times – they were said to be in Japan and China.
The online article claims two people familiar with the country’s second largest state-owned oil refiner had revealed the plans however news producer Reuters said on its website that the story had not been substantiated.
There is no indication that Manali Petrochemicals is one of the companies allegedly involved in talks. and no one was available for comment at Bharat Petroleum Corp this morning.
