Washington – Several major companies including Akzo Nobel Chemicals, BASF, DuPont and Eastman Chemical have joined the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) new Bio-based Chemistry Network.
The body was set up to help educate policymakers on creating effective regulation for the bio-based chemistry industry, which the ACC estimate to be worth between $2.7bn and $4bn in the US.
Currently, the network also includes: Braskem America; Chevron Oronite Company; ExxonMobil Chemical Company; Future Fuel Chemical; Galata Chemicals; Lanxess Corp; MeadWestvaco; Metabolix; Myriant Corporation; OPX; Biotechnologies; Shell Chemical; Solvay NA and Virent.
