Changji, Xinjiang - On 11 June Blue Ridge Tunhe Chemical Industry (BRTCI) had a successful trial of its 104kT/year BDO facility in Changji, Xinjiang and produced BDO with 95.5% purity, according to the company.
Construction of this first phase project started in April 2013. The second phase includes a 46kT/year PTMEG capacity and began construction in April 2014, the company told UTECH-polyurethane.com.
The project was conducted by BRTCI's subsidiary Blue Ridge Tunhe Energy located at Lama Huliang Industrial Park in Qitai County, Changji, Xinjiang. The location is 3000km (2000m) northwest of Beijing and 6 kilometres from urban areas, 10 kilometres from the nearest highway Turpan-Urumqi-Dahuangshan Highway.
