Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Bayer MaterialScience will present its newly developed fast-setting polyurea sealants with improved UV performance at the upcoming Thermoset Resin Formulators Association's annual meeting, held 13-15 Sept 2009 at Sheraton Station Square, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the company said 26 Aug.
Jay Johnston, senior associate scientist at BMS, will present the paper: "Aliphatic 2-Component Polyurea and Hybrid-Polyurea-Polyurethane Sealants," which discusses new optimized formulations using commercially available amines, the statement said.
"The improved UV stability is achieved without sacrificing the sealant's other properties," Johnston said. "The use of an all aliphatic sealant is especially ideal for applications where aesthetic qualities of the sealant are important," he said.
BMS said that the new polyurea sealants demonstrated "superior technological performance over competitive products," making them ideal for applications requiring high productivity joint filling. (RD)
