Leverkusen, Germany-Bayer MaterialScience AG is gathering its global polyurethane systems business under the BaySystems brand. The move applies both to system products and the BMS network of polyurethane systems houses.
Bayer said it intends the name to be synonymous with individual service and tailor-made solutions for all customers.
"By clearly separating our polyurethane activities into a raw materials and a systems business, we can provide customers with an even more individual attention and deliver the levels of service they want," said Peter Vanacker, member of the Executive Committee of Bayer MaterialScience and head of the Polyurethanes Business Unit, in a company statement.
The existing structure, with numerous individual product brands and logos, is being swapped for the new single brand, BMS added. Well-known individual material brands will, however, be retained, the group said.
BaySystems means "high-quality system solutions wherever polyurethane materials are used, in applications ranging from bonding foam for the construction industry to cast elastomers for roller skates, from rigid integral skin foam for futuristic loudspeakers to flexible foam for comfortable office chairs," the company said.
The launch of this new brand, creates "a global seal of quality for our products and customer services," claimed Dr Ralf Güther, head of branding and external communication in the Polyurethanes Business Unit.
BMS said the polyurethane systems houses are complemented by its network of research and technology centres, including a recently founded one for footwear and spray technology in Shanghai and one recently set up in Dubai. (epw)"
