Brunsbuttel, Germany -- Bayer MaterialScience/Covestro has confirmed it will close TDI production at this site in "early September 2015."
Output is being replaced by the firm's plant in Dormagen which uses 60% less energy than a conventional plant at the same capacity and 80% less solvent, said BMS.
This 300kT/year plant will supply all of BMS' European needs, the firm said. BMS' smaller TDI plant in Dormagen has been closed.
Bayer MaterialScience will operate as Covestro from 1 September 2015.
