Kazincbarcika, Hungary – Borsodchem is doubling capacity at the TDI crystallization unit at its Kazincbarcika plant in Hungary.
The company said that construction has already begun. Borsodchem said the expansion should come on stream in the third quarter of 2018. This will increase capacity for its T65 and T100 TDI grades, according to an announcement.
T65 and T100 are largely used for polyurethane coatings, adhesive and flexible foam. ‘This capacity expansion will allow BorsodChem to meet the strong demand growth, and continue to provide stable supply in the coming years,’ said the announcement.
Inaugurated in 2011, Borsodchem’s Kazincbarcika plant has nameplate TDI capacity of 160kT/year and full capacity of up to 200kT/year, according to its website. The company also has more than 2,000kT/year capacity for MDI.
