Paris – Arkema company Bostik is to acquire XL Brands in the US. It specialises in floor covering adhesives. These include polyurethane-based products such as UltraStix HM wood flooring adhesive, a low-VOC, one component, moisture-cured polyurethane adhesive for a variety of wood flooring products.

XL has recently completed a new production facility in Dalton, Georgia. Its range is complementary to those already offered by Bostik in the US, said Arkema. This move forms part of Arkema’s ongoing development strategy, with the aim of increasing the size of its adhesives business to more than a third of its overall sales by 2023.
The acquisition is expected to close at the end of 2017, subject to regulatory approval by antitrust authorities.
