Oldham, UK — The British Rigid Urethane Foam Manufacturers Association (BRUFMA) has appointed Simon Storer as its new chief executive from today 9 January 2017.

    New BRUFMA ceo, Storer

Before this position, Storer was head of communications at BACTA, which claims to be the largest trade association in the UK gaming arena.

Storer has also held posts as communications and external affairs director at the UK Construction Products Association for seven years and worked for the Channel Tunnel project for 10 years during its construction phase.

Commenting on his appointment Storer said he was taking on the appointment at "a hugely interesting and challenging time, both for of UK as a whole and specifically for the construction and manufacturing sector.

“Although the UK faces many uncertainties, there is no doubt that energy efficiency of the built environment will remain a national objective and key to the UK hitting its climate change targets. PIR insulation is essential to this, and BRUFMA members will continue to play a leading role in ensuring buildings performed to the highest standards.”

BRUFMA president Kevin Bohea, said Stores' key tasks would be developing and implementing an effective strategy the coming years and leading BRUFMA to enable to association to expand its access and influence.
