Washington, DC -- The US polyurethane industry is being urged to share anecdotes about innovation enabled by the material to celebrate over 75 years of history.
The Center for Polyurethanes Industry – part of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) – has launched a campaign to celebrate the polyurethanes industry’s presence in nearly 1,000 US locations, its generation of $19.7bn in output value and the 37,700 jobs it maintains in the US.
Speaking from the International Sleep Products Association Expo in New Orleans, Lee Salamone, senior director of the Center for Polyurethanes Industry at the ACC, told Urethanes Technology International/UTECH-polyurethane.com polyurethane practitioners were likely to come up with surprising suggestions for how the material enriches our daily lives.
“I am always surprised at what people can do with polyurethane, I'm genuinely surprised at what we can do with this material.”
Due to run for a period 18 months initially, the campaign was launched to coincide with the 75-year plus milestone in polyurethane innovation. It will run online at: www.incrediblepolyurethane.com and can be followed on Twitter at: @accpolyurethane
Manufacturers with information on polyurethane uses they would like to share with the organisation should contact Jessica Knutzon at the ACC: [email protected]
