Ottawa, Canada – Canadian MPs unanimously passed the CUSMA bill on Friday 13 March. It was rushed through on the final day of business ahead of a five-week break in the parliamentary session because of COVID-19.
The new North American trade deal to replace NAFTA – CUSMA in Canada and USMCA in the US – had already been agreed in Mexico last year, and in January by the US. It is set to come into force later this year.
