Milan, Italy -- "Turnkey plant capacity" will be the theme of Cannon's presence at the JEC Composites show, to be held in Paris, 12-14 March 2013.
The wide range of complete technological solutions available at Cannon for the industrial manufacture of thermosetting and thermoplastic composites will be presented by an international staff of the Italian machinery group's specialists.
A classic meeting place for composites specialists of all nations, the three-day JEC 2013 will see the Cannon Group (www.cannon.com) presenting solutions by Cannon for urethane- and epoxy-based composites that have found immediate interest from the top part makers.
Cannon says today the complete manufacturing line required for to make a thermoset or a thermoplastic composite part - from glass- or carbon-preformer to the finished part trimming, including chemical dispensing unit and mixing head, moulds, mould carriers, handling and heating systems, trimming and controls - "is available from a single qualified source."
Classic Cannon solutions like InterWet and OuterWet - for the coinjection of rigid polyurethane and chopped glass fibre - are widely used for lightweight, wide structural elements needed by the transport industry, as well as by sanitary ware makers or in the wind-power industry.
Cannon says an "interesting solution" for the manufacture of glass-reinforced polyurethane manholes will be shown.
Another PU technology from Cannon, based on Bayer MaterialScience materials, is extensively used to make extremely light and stiff flat parts for automotive interiors. Thus demands a dedicated line to apply a thin layer of rigid expanded foam over a sandwich structure of folded cardboard lined on both sides with two sheets of non-woven glass mat.
This solution is currently successfully uses in several countries, with Cannon turnkey lines.
