Toronto, Ontario -- Canusa-CPS and Neptune Research Inc. (NRI) have signed a preliminary reciprocal sales and marketing agreement covering specific products manufactured by both companies.
NRI manufactures Syntho-Glass products which consist of a fiberglass mesh pre-impregnated with a moisture-curing polyurethane resin. These products are typically used for reinforcement, mechanical protection, or leak-repair applications.
Canusa-CPS, part of oil and gas pipeline supply group ShawCor, manufactures a line of field-applied products for protecting pipelines from corrosion, primarily used on girth-weld field joints.
NRI will be able to offer Canusa products including its recently developed viscoelastic Wrapid Bond, which it claims has "superior mechanical protection for pipeline coatings," as well as materials for horizontal directional drilling systems.
According to a joint statement, the agreement also allows NRI to access Canusa's domestic and international distributor network for specific products in Corrosion Protection and Coatings, and Corrosion Coating Allowance Products for Steel Pipe.
This deal also provides Canusa with another route to market for the Wrapid Bond products. NRI will continue to sell into the Pipeline Integrity Market through its existing distribution network.
NRI, set up in 1982, develops, manufactures and markets a patented PU resin-impregnated fibreglass cloth for the repair and corrosion protection of pipes, pipelines, pilings and similar structures. It says its products are used globally and serve a broad range of markets including industrial, marine, oil and gas, municipalities, mining and utilities.
