Redwood City, California – Digital manufacturing specialist Carbon has made several changes to its leadership team. The company says the changes, including promotions and newly created positions, are ‘critical’ to the company’s continued growth and success.

Craig Carlson has been promoted to chief technology officer from vice-president of engineering. He will be responsible for the company’s technology needs, both hardware and software, as it scales up.

Carbon co-founder Philip DeSimone moves from his role of vice-president of business development to a newly created role, chief customer officer. His responsibilities will include customer retention and managing strategic customers.

Another vice-president, Meg Nibbi, has been promoted to VP, general counsel. She is responsible for the company’s global legal and compliance function.

A new hire, Rich Narasaki, joins as vice-president of brand marketing. His most recent role was at GE, where he was head of global brand.

    Joseph DeSimone: continued success

‘We are at the forefront of digital manufacturing, creating a new standard for the industry. In order to continue pushing the boundaries of what our technology can do and to execute our global growth strategy, we need to have the best team at the top,’ said Joseph DeSimone, Carbon’s CEO and co-founder. ‘This expanded leadership team brings a wealth of experience and business expertise that will strengthen our leadership team and set Carbon up for continued success.’
