Tudela, Spain - In its 12 months existence, cedepa, a joint investment by Saip Equipment and Dow Chemical Co. has become the place to collaborate and create new ideas in continuous panel production, test those ideas and solve problems together, the two companies said, in a 12 July statement.
Tudela, Spain-based cedepa, built with the support of the Spanish authorities, is a 135-m long state-of-the-art industrial-scale line for polyurethane formulation and production with continuous technology. It allows panel producers to experiment with new formulations or process modifications without interrupting their existing busy lines.
The goal is to help customers and the construction industry accelerate their development and implementation of novel solutions for making polyurethane insulation panels by the continuous double-lamination process.
"cedepa supports Saip and Dow customers by easing their technical development and shortening the time-to-market of their innovation, along with offering an ideal environment for the organization of effective theoretical-practical training for their employees on both the technology and the line," commented the operation's general manager, Michele Mambretti, in the joint statement.
"cedepa is more than a facility. It is a learning centre with all of the tools and resources needed to forge even greater developments for the advancement of insulated metal panels made with a continuous process for our customers and the construction industry," added Javier Carnicer, area marketing director for Dow Formulated Systems.
"Above and beyond the pure innovation component that represents the mission of cedepa, the centre is available to test how either innovation or specific modifications translate on industrial scale, thus allowing fast production tests and continuous modifications in real time," said Saip's commercial director, Luigi Procopio.
"Total confidentiality is ensured ... and the centre has proven already in this first year of activity to be an extraordinary engine for our customers' innovation and success," Procopio added
"cedepa has already demonstrated its contribution to accelerating the speed of implementation," according to Jon Penrice, General Manager for Dow Thermoset Systems. The facility provides customers with "a means to run tests and prototyping activities without conflicting with regular production," Penrice added.
