Middlebury, Connecticut -- Chemtura Corp. will launch its Adiprene K one-component urethane systems at Rubber Expo, 16-18 October, in Cleveland, Ohio.
The new Adiprene family, which is created using a blocked methylene dianiline-NaCl (MDA3-NaCl) curative, offers plenty of time and cost-saving advantages, said Chemtura, in a 12 Oct statement.
For example they require no weighing or mixing, have an unlimited potlife, and possess quick de-moulding times, for improved productivity in small and/or thin parts, added the company.
"This versatility offers new levels of consistency and speed, opening up a whole new universe of possibilities for urethanes customers," according to Chemtura.
"Historically, MDA3-NaCl has been utilised with conventional prepolymers for thin articles and remains a valuable tool for these applications," said Chris Maupin, Chemtura's commercial development manager, in the statement. "However, recent developments with low-free-monomer prepolymers and the blocked curative provide a foundation for developing new urethane product opportunities," he added.
