Droitwich, UK -- Chemtura is looking to close its Baxenden Chemicals facility in Droitwich Spa with the loss of 30 posts, according to press reports.
Staff consultations are underway at the site, which specialises in water based polyurethane dispersions for industrial applications in the automotive and construction markets.
"Chemtura's global polyurethane business operations must remain competitive in a challenging economic environment," the company said in a statement.
"To remain competitive, a consultation process has started with the workforce on a proposal to cease production at the Droitwich site and consolidate manufacturing operations."
The company said it will be consulting with employees about alternative job opportunities across Chemtura businesses.
