Middlebury, Connecticut -- Chemtura Corp. is to increase the price of the flame retardants DE-83R and Firemaster 2100 by up to 15 percent. The rise is, "In response to significant raw material, energy and freight cost inflation, " the group announced, 8 Sept. The increase will take effect for shipments after 15 Sept 2008, or where contracts allow.
At the same time Chemtura said it would removed any extended price protection.
For Witcobond polyurethane dispersions, the group is also increasing prices by 15 percent, from 1 Oct 2008, or as contracts allow. This change is directly related to escalating raw materials and operating costs, said Chemtura.
