Middlebury, Connecticut - Chemtura Corp. says rising raw materials prices are forcing it to increase selling prices of all its Fomrez polyester polyols by 5 to 7 percent. This rise, in North America and Latin America, takes effect 15 Nov 2007, or as contract terms permit, said a 9 Nov statement from Chemtura.
These changes are directly related to continuously escalating costs for raw materials, transport and energy, explained the group.
Customers said customers should consult their Chemtura sales representative to discuss the price increase and their company's most current forecast.
To help ensure adequate supply, Chemtura urges customers with demand for esters based on EG (ethylene glycol) and DEG (diethylene glycol) to "provide as much advance notice as possible."
Chemtura's Fomrez polyester polyols are used in flexible PU foams, thermoplastic polyurethanes, coatings, adhesives and elastomers, as well as in urethane additives for coatings in hardwood floors, paints and textiles.
