Philadelphia, Pennsylvania -- Chemtura Corp. has completed an expansion of its European Regional Technical Development Center, at the company's Latina Scalo, Italy, polyurethane prepolymer production facility.
This expansion of this Chemtura Urethanes' Adiprene/Vibrathane research centre has been completed with the installation and commissioning of an industrial-scale Unipre three-component meter/mix machine coupled to a fully synchronised rotary-casting system (see photo), said Chemtura's statement.
The new equipment will enable Chemtura to further develop and expand its range of Adiprene Ribbon Flow prepolymer systems, which are used for the rotational casting of industrial rolls that are primarily utilised in the paper, steel, and printing markets.
"The successful installation of this rotational casting equipment in our regional technical development centre allows Chemtura Urethanes to continue providing the technical solutions needed by our customers to enable both them and us to grow," said Stephen Lewis, EMEA business director, Chemtura Urethanes.
