Chennai, India – Manali Petrochemicals said production at both of its plants have been disrupted due to flooding since 2 December 2015,in news release to the Bombay stock market.
The firm makes polyols and propylene oxide at two locations in the city. The plants are expected to come back on stream when power supplies and logistics return to normal, the company said. The closure will significantly hit its financial performance in the current quarter and over the remainder of the financial year, the firm said.
According to the Hindu, 490mm rain fell on Chennai in 24 hours from 1 December and BBC reports, 269 people have died in the rains.
