By Namrita Chow, Automotive NewsShanghai, China - Chery Automobile Co. has purchased machines to make its own polyurethane seat foam from Hennecke Maruka (Shanghai) Ltd."We are supplying Chery a couple of high-pressure foam machines," said Igor Croiset, general manager at Hennecke Maruka.David Zhang, general sales manager at Hennecke Maruka, said Chery plans to make seats to equip more than 1 million vehicles in the next two years. Chery's goal is to cut seat-making costs, he said.Chery declined to comment.Hennecke Maruka is a joint venture of Hennecke GmbH and MEG-Maruka Kakouki Co. Assembly, maintenance and sales of machinery are carried out at the Hennecke Maruka base in Shanghai.Machinery to make polyurethane foam is imported from Germany's Hennecke GmbH, a subsidiary of Bayer AG."
