Nantong, Jiangsu – Additive maker Hengguangda Polyurethane Material expects its new plant in Nantong, Jiangsu to come on full stream within two months, the company’s sales manager Han Yusheng told UTECH-polyurethane.com.
This is the company’s second site after at its headquarters in Suzhou, Jiangsu. The plant’s total capacity breaks down as follows:
- 3kT/year stannous octoate;
- 5kT/year amine catalysts;
- 18kT/year silicone catalysts; and
- 20kT/year modified MDI and other additives
The plant was started in 2016 with CNY 200m ($31m) investment. the project is expected to have CNY 800m annual production value when in full operation.
With a portfolio of over 60 products, Hengguangda claims to be China’s only polyurethane catalyst maker that covers all three major additive types, tin, amine and silicone.
It also claims to be the only Chinese company which is able to make stannous octoate from tin ingots. It has launched low VOC additives which can produce foam with emissions of around 0.0001% (1ppm), said its website.
