Shanghai, China – Jiangsu Changhua Polyurethane Science and Technology is planning to launch a new polyol formula in September or October 2014 after two years of research.
The company told UTECH-polyurethane.com in an exclusive interview at the PU China exhibition held 3-5 September 2014 but refused to disclose technical details.
Changhua, a polyether polyols maker that claims to have almost 30% of China’s market share, is based in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province with an 180kT/year polyether polyols capacity. It has an area of 40,000m2 with 700 employees.
“The sector is growing at a rather moderate rate,” said Shu Chao, customer service engineer at Changhua’s parent company Changshun Group.
“China is preparing new environmental regulations, which when released could cause a lot of smaller companies to shut down,” said Shu. “In the long run, it’ll force the sector to improve its technology, and we are also planning to provide more customised products.”
The company’s business in auto interior materials comes mainly from east China and north China areas, where several major auto interior factories are based, according to Shu.
