Washington, DC - In January 2020, the US imported 574 ,000 refrigerators. This is up by 24% on January 2019 and is equivalent to 110,134 more than in that month.
The largest exporter to the US was China. A total of 522,527 units or 91% of the total came from that country. China's share has grown by 4% since January 2019. Then China was the starting point for 405,000 refrigerators or 87% of the total imported.
This January, Mexico made a total of 16,000 refrigerators destined for the US. This is a 24% fall from January 2019, when the country was the source of 20,637 refrigerators.
In January this year, Canada accounted for under half of Mexico's haul. A total of 7603 refrigerators traveled south over the border into the US. In January 2019 a total of 6551 refrigerators came from the country.
