Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu – Feihang Industry plans to start up its 50kT/year epoxidised soybean oil polyol facility by the end of 2019. The plant will use Feihang's own technology.
A pilot line with 1kT/year capacity has been running since May 2018, the company’s vice general manager, Cao Junjie, told UTECH-polyurethane.com.
‘We’ve been selling to several clients and they are all satisfied with our [biopolyol] product,’ he added.
Located at the company’s existing site in Jiangsu Yangtze River International Chemicals Park, the project originally had 80kT/year designed capacity. However, tough new regulations forced a reduction.
Installation started in 2018. The equipment’s cost totals CNY30m ($4m), according to Cao.
Feihang was established in the 1980s as a systems house and fine chemical maker. The company has become a leading medical intermediates company in the country.
In addition, company set up a polyurethane laboratory in 2012 jointly with Nanjing Tech University in the province.
