Beijing – China exported 457m pairs of shoes in May 2020, down by 45.5% compared with May 2019.
The value of exports in May shrunk 45.4% from a year ago to $2.1bn, according to China’s General Administration of Customs.
This still showed growth compared with April 2020, when the country exported 403m pairs of footwear, worth $1.9bn.
Footwear exports over the first five months of 2020 reached 2.6bn pairs. This is down by 33.8% from the same period in 2019. The value of these exports fell by 30.6% year-on-year, to $11.7bn.
