Beijing – China exported 2.6m mattresses and cushions fitted with cellular rubber or plastics in June 2020, up 35% from a year ago.
Their value climbed by 4% year on year, to $45.4m, said China’s General Administration of Customs. The tonnage of exports rose by 1% to 8,800 tonnes.
This compares with across-the-board two-digit decline in May 2020. The half-year totals, however, were still down.
In the first half of 2020, China exported was 12.2m units, a 15% drop from the same period in 2019. Half-year export value was pared down by 40% year on year, to $209m, while weight shrunk 46% to 41,400 tons.
Japan was still China’s largest overseas market in value for June, registering 9.1$m-worth exports shipped. The US has reclaimed the second place with k $5.3m exports, followed by Korea’s $5.2m.
Vietnam, the fourth largest market in May, has fallen to the 19th place in June with exports value reduced by 85% from May to $506,000.
