Beijing – China exported 7.1m refrigerators and freezers in November 2020, up 99% compared with November 2019. The value of these exports leapt 91% year-on-year, to $868m, according to China’s General Administration of Customs.
Exports over the first 11 months of 2020 amounted to 63m units, up 34% compared with the same period in 2019. The 11-month value of exports increased by 27% from a year ago, to $7.4bn.
China’s refrigerator exports have been recording higher year-on-year growth rates each month since June.
In November, its production of refrigerators, excluding freezers, jumped 23% from November 2019 to 9m units, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Eleven-month production of refrigerators improved 6% from a year ago, to 83m units.
The country also reported 3.3m units freezer production in November, a 71% increase year on year. Eleven-month production of freezers amounted to 27m units, up 52% from the same period in 2019.
