Ningde, Fujian – China’s Xinwanhua Leather plans to build a new plant with 3000 km/year polyurethane leather capacity in Ningde, Fujian. Local authorities initially approved the project in January.
The facilities include four wet and three dry production lines and, when complete, they will supply processors located in the nearby city of Wenzhou, Zhejiang. This city is a hub for China’s leather and footwear sector, according to the project’s environmental impact report.
Located at Ningde’s Fuding Long’an Industrial Park, the project will cover 29,500 m2. In addition, total investment is likely to be CNY 110m ($16 m), the company said. This includes CNY70m for machinery.
The project is expected to take one year to complete. It will create 300 new jobs when on stream.
Fuding Long’an Industrial Park has become a major site for synthetic leather manufacturing and processing in China. By 2017, the park had 60 dry and 66 wet production lines in operation. Moreover, at that date, projects for 27 more dry, 24 more wet and 7 microfibre lines had already been approved, according to a local government document.
