Beijing -- Frbiz.com, a Chinese B2B search platform, has reported increases in prices for polyurethane products.
Among the 100 chemical products reviewed, for average prices in the last two weeks, compared with average prices from the previous two weeks, Frbiz says prices rose for 54 kinds of products, fell for 18 types, and remained stable for 28 types.
Among those that rose more than 3% were: rigid polyether 9.8%, adipic acid 9.1%, chlorine 7.8%, butanediol 6.5%, spandex 5.9%, polymeric MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) 5.0%, pure MDI 5.0%, naphtha, 5.0%, PU slurry 4.8%, propylene oxide 4.7%, caprolactam 4.7%, soft foam polyether 4.3% and dimethyl formamide (DMF) 3.8%.
FRbiz says these price increases make it clear that "there may be opportunity for investment in BDO, spandex, polymeric and pure MDI, propylene oxide, and DMF."
