Brussels -- BASF SE has confirmed that its joint venture TDI (toluene diisocyanate) plant in Caojing, China (Shanghai BASF Polyurethane Co. Ltd) will shut down from 4th to 21st July 2010, for about 17 days, while the joint venture MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) plant on the same site will be shut down this week from 4th to 11th July 2010, for about 7 days.
A BASF spokesperson said the shutdown is a result of the unavailability a raw material from a supplier.
