Bydgoszcz, Poland -- Polish PU foam producer Ciech Pianki has finished building a new facility increasing its PU foam storage and logistics capacity.
The Bydgoszcz-based facility cost PLN 9m (EUR 2.16m), and will allow the company to fully automate the process of storing foam blocks up to 30 m long. It was announced in March 2017, when Ciech PIanki said it planned a EUR 2.3m investment.
Ciech’s PU foam subsidiary was established in 1971, and the plant was modernised in 1999 to make highly elastic material. In 2017, it added lightweight and flame retardant foams. Ciech Pianki says it supplies its products to mattress and furniture producers, and foam processors.
Ciech’s majority shareholder is KI Chemistry, a Luxembourg-based entity owned by the Kulczyk family. KI Chemistry owns 51.14% of the group.
