Warsaw – Sales at Polish chemicals and polyurethane foam company Ciech in the first half of 2017 were PLN 1.8 bn ($ 504 m) up PLN 88 m or 4.8 % on the 2016 period.
Higher sales volumes of PU foam at PLN 149 m were up 30% on the corresponding first half of 2016, when the firm's recorded sales of PLN 114 m.
The company said that partly the growth of the polyurethane business has been driven by a 6.8% increase in the manufacture of furniture in Poland in the first half of 2017. The company added that Poland is ‘the largest sales market of Ciech group.’
In September 2016, the company listed its shares on the Frankfurt stock exchange as well as the Warsaw stock exchange, and said at the time that it ‘believe the dual listing we improve the attractiveness of Ciech and have a positive impact on the long-term development of the value of the company.’
The company said at the time that its foam subsidiary controls between 15 and 17% of Poland's PU foam market.
