Warrington, UK - CMS Vibration Solutions, a UK-based anti-vibration specialist, has developed polyurethane foam materials to dampen vibrations generated by the manufacture of concrete paving blocks.
Regufoam, a 100-percent recyclable PU foam, is being used by Wyresdale Concrete Products to isolate the foundations of a new Hess Vibrating Block Machine, an 18 June statement said.
Total isolation of the 6m x 5m x 2.2m inertia pit was achieved by installing Regufoam 150 to the sides, and loose-laying Regufoam 300 on the base, the statement said. "As a heavy duty machine that would be operational for approximately 10 hours a day, effective vibration control was a critical factor," said Steve Blackburn of Wyresdale Concrete Products.
Regufoam, available exclusively through CMS in the UK, is available in six grades, selected according to load bearing capability and natural frequency. (RD)
