Vancouver, British Columbia  – Coim USA is investing in a new facility for the production of low free MDI and TDI, R&D manager Scott Archibald told UTECH-polyurthane.com at the Polyurethane Manufacturers Association meeting in Vancouver confirming an earlier statement.

The new unit is being built at the company’s location in West Deptford, New Jersey, and will be integrated with the polyester plant on the same site. It should be brought on stream in 2018.

The expansion will allow the Italian-owned company to increase its capacity for low free TDI and MDI by 150%. The existing low free manufacturing plant in the former Air Products site a few miles away in Paulsboro, New Jersey, will continue operations.

“There has been a lot of demand for low free MDI and TDI,” Archibald said. “It is good that the company is still investing in polyurethane.”
