Arlington Heights, Illinois -- Composites One and 3M's renewable energy division have formed an alliance to serve the emerging wind-energy industry.
3M will offer a variety of tapes, adhesives and fillers that protect wind turbines against weathering and harsh environments. The companies will work together on custom products.
"By forming this alliance with 3M we will be able to offer cutting-edge 3M innovative products to our customers as well as all the other process consumables and composite materials they might need to be successful," said Dave Smith, power generation marketing manager for Composites One, in a news release.
Arlington Heights-based Composites One distributes composite materials to North American fabricators and moulders.
