Dannenburg, Germany – A new range of polyurethane timing belts is being introduced by Continental. The company says the Synchromotion belts can give reliable power transmission, including in demanding environments. Applications include synchronous conveyor systems and transport devices with sliding rails, plus positioning and reversing drives in linear and control engineering.
Part of its Truly Endless product line, the steel cord reinforced belts are said to be flexible, abrasion resistant and durable. The PU cover gives efficient power transmission.
The belts are available in 11 different profiles, with a maximum width of 100mm and lengths ranging from 1500 to 14,500mm. Individual lengths can be manufactured, down to a single tooth, giving customers design flexibility, and allowing them to be used as replacements on existing equipment.
“This allows us to offer our industrial customers a significantly larger standard range, and they can now access the full product portfolio from a single source,” said Sascha Heyde, the company’s product manager for industrial drive belts.
The belts will be made at the company’s plant in Dannenberg, which specialises in polyurethane products. With each order produced to customer specifications, the lead time will be about four to six weeks.
