Covestro’s Baytown plant granted ISCC Plus certification

Govil: reduced carbon footprint
The Baytown site is Covestro’s third largest, and the ninth Bayer plant to be awarded ISCC Plus. The certification means all the company’s major sites are now certified. It expects to start delivering ISCC Plus-certified products from Baytown, made via a mass-balance approach, in the second half of 2023.
“Thanks to this new milestone, Covestro will soon be able to serve even more customers around the world with an easily accessible, more sustainable product portfolio,” said Sucheta Govil, the company’s chief commercial officer. “Customers in North America can now reduce their carbon footprint and Scope 3 emissions with drop-in, mass-balanced materials derived from recycled and bio-attributed products.”
