Hamburg, Germany and Naples, Florida – The same Covestro polyurethane coating has been used for anti-corrosion on a US swing bridge and to create a marble effect on a university facility floor.
The firm's Pasquick PU coating was used to protect a pedestrian and bicycle swing bridge over Lotse Canal in Hamburg and a 6,500m2 floor space at Florida’s Ave Maria University.
According to Covestro, Pasquick requires less coats and cures faster than traditional methods.
Covestro and US manufacturer Decosup and Covestro applied an acid stain to the university's concrete floor for adhesion then sealed it with a polyaspartic coating. A second coat was applied a few hours after the first and students could walk on the floor within a more few hours, Covestro said.
