Baltimore, Maryland — Air Products is using CPI 2016 to launch new catalysts designed to work with HFO blowing agents in a range of different applications.
The first material, designated Polycat 203 is described as a water-free, non-emissive amine catalyst for integral skin applications that shows "excellent resin-side stability" when used with HFO blowing agents, the firm said. For spray foam applications, Air Products is launching its Polycat 218 amine catalyst which "can impart faster initiation while maintaining excellent resin-side stability". It is designed for use with with the company's Polycat 204 catalyst.
Air Products is also launching Dabco PM301, which it describes as a non-emissive, organic modifier that can improve the solubility of HFO blowing agents in spray foam applications. The last two launches are Polycat 211 and Dabco TMR18 catalysts designed to improve system reactivity and the physical properties of high-water-content rigid foams which use HFO blowing agents.
