Washington, DC - The US Centre for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) has launched a new guidance document on how to visually illustrate the application of high- and low-pressure spray polyurethane foam (SPF), CPI said in a 10 May statement.
The document provides information about the different types of SPF and their uses. It also explains what appropriate handling and personal protective equipment should be illustrated in a video or image depicting SPF application.
"One of the polyurethane industry's product stewardship goals is to help educate those using SPF about appropriate handling and good safety practices. It is imperative that videos and pictures used in marketing materials, home renovation shows, magazines and elsewhere show appropriate safety measures being taken by everyone at the job site," said Lee Salamone, senior director of CPI, part of the American Chemistry Council (ACC).
The document is available to anyone who is producing videos or images of spray foam application so they can help show what good safety practices look like. It can be downloaded free of charge from the CPI SPF health and safety website, www.spraypolyurethane.org
