Goole, Yorkshire -- The 2013 'Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations' report has placed Croda top in UK-based companies and at number 25 in the world.
The report, which is compiled annually by Corporate Knights, a Canadian media organisation specialising in corporate sustainability, is in its 9th year. It is the most extensive data-driven corporate sustainability assessment and is based on the financial, social and environmental performance of around 4000 of the world's largest listed companies.
Croda said the results demonstrate its "increased emphasis on sustainability and highlight the importance that it plays in the company's ongoing strategy."
Steve Foots, chief executive of Croda, said: "Our high global ranking and leading position in the UK reflects the significant amount of time that we have invested in this area. Our objective is to excel even further and make sustainability a major point of difference for the business. We are confident that this strategy will generate even greater benefits for the environment in which we operate the people that we work with and our shareholders."
