Middlebury, Connecticut-Crompton Corp. has named Bob Wood, a former senior executive of Dow Chemical Co., as its new president and chief executive officer. He takes over both roles from Vincent Calarco, who is, however, staying on as chairman until his retirement later this year, Crompton announced 12 Jan.
Wood has spent over 27 years at Dow, and was a member of its corporate operating board. He most recently served as business group president-Thermosets and Dow Automotive, which encompassed Dow's polyurethanes, epoxies, automotive and polyurethane systems businesses.
Calarco, who served as chairman, president and CEO for the past 18 years, is retiring in accordance with Crompton's management succession plan, the company said.
"
