Barnsley, UK - Now that CTM Equipment Ltd has signed a deal to be the sole UK distributor of polyurethane processing equipment made by Italy's Impianti OMS SpA, managing director Ruth Wootton aims to take the company to the next level.

Wootton, whose husband Shane is now focussing on the sales and marketing aspects of the business, was instrumental in the agreement with OMS, and sees a key element in its strategy as offering good UK customer support for standard application polyurethane equipment.

At the same time, "CTM prides itself on being a world class leader of self-build innovative, high performance, leading technology equipment dedicated to the offshore market," Wootton added, in a company statement.

Wootton, who took over as MD at the beginning of 2012, comments that, "being a woman MD of a manufacturing firm is unusual but being a woman MD of a firm in PU is an extremely rare occurrence."

She sees the role as both exciting and challenging, and is confident she has the qualities needed to take the company to the next level.

"We have some exciting times ahead of us at CTM and I am relishing the opportunity at hand here in further developing CTM's capabilities in all sectors of PU," Wootton said.
