A Plastics News Report
Woodland Park, New Jersey -- Cytec Industries Inc. is increasing production capacity for UV light stabilisers at a plant in Willow Island, West Virginia.
Stabilisers made there under the Cyasorb brand name are used as additives in plastics and coatings, officials with Woodland, Park, New Jersey-based Cytec said in a 19 Jan 19 news release. No details of the expansion were included in the release, although officials said the project would "significantly" increase capacity and would be completed by the beginning of 2012.
"Global demand for high performance UV protection for plastics and coatings is growing," global polymer additives business director Domenico Romanino said in the release.
Cytec is a publicly held speciality chemicals maker that posted sales of almost $2800 million in 2009.
