(DPP) has formed a joint venture in Guangdong Province in China with local PU moulder Her Taiy International Ltd. DPP and Her Taiy's new Chinese operation-Dayton Polymeric China Ltd (DPC)-will make automotive and industrial products primarily for customers within China. This will allow DPP to serve its existing customer base in China, as well as the US. DPC will be located in Zhong San City in Guangdong. We decided to buck the trend of US companies moving production to China, opting rather to operate there for the China market while keeping our Dayton operations for the US market," said Bill Palmer, president of DPP, in a company statement. "Our product development will also remain in Dayton," Palmer continued, adding that the approach will allow the company to better serve its customers and stay remain committed to the Dayton location.Custom urethane moulder DPP supplies both the automotive and industrial markets. It makes energy-absorbing foams for occupant safety in passenger vehicles and trucks and also supplies parts made of integral skin foam for uses in automotive interiors as well as for industrial applications. Other products include noise abatement foams for automotive, marine and industrial applications and sandwich boards for uses which demand high strength coupled with light weight. Guangdong-based Her Taiy International is a custom moulder of urethane shoe soles and industrial products, sold within China and also exported to the US. "
